    This is a detailed and well written essay, in which you give a very clear sense of the magazine's ethos, and how this is demonstrated on this cover. You unpick some of the coverlines and imagery, and show effectively how media language is used to represent an alternative story on poverty. Well done. V

- Shelter is a charity for homelessness - close up-eye level, direct address - Direct Address creates a strong connection between the audience and and the person in the shot (equal connection) - Unusual placement of caption on top of the face, it is also transparents. It is published by its company called Shortlist Media Ltd. Shortlists audience is mainly professional males "building their careers and relationships". Shortlist is an independent company that is turning conglomerate. Shortlist is a global magazine that features both overseas and in the UK. Biggest selling magazine in the UK (roughly half a million circulation per week). The women's shortlist magazine is called stylist.
