- The audience for this advert is young girls who are in abusive relationships, to educate them that this should not be happening. The audience could also be young girls in general, as to let them know that if they get into a relationship and see these signs, they need to protect themselves and get out of that relationship. The audience could also be young boys to teach them that this is not the way they should treat women.

- This advert was created by the government (conservative and liberal democrat coalition government) in order to raise awareness of abusive relationships in adolescents.

- The techniques they used in order to make the audience bound to agree is the fact that they made sure the boy was portrayed in a negative way, belittling the girl and physically abusing her. This would make the audience see that the boy is almost the villain and the girl is the damsel in distress. They also made the boy look in on himself treating the girl in this way. This boy looking in on himself represents the audience, the government have done this to show the audience the way they should be reacting. At the end of the advert, it reads "If you could see YOURSELF would you stop YOURSELF". This forces the audience to see the advert as if it was them in it which makes it personal for the audience and makes them read the message of the advert how the producers intended it be read as they become protective of themselves. The fact that the girl cries in the advert would really bring out the emotion in the audience, which makes them more likely to agree with the producers of the advert.

        Dominant and Patriarchal Ideologies about women: Weak, dependent, passive, housewives, kitchen chained, not career driven, sex objects etc. The oppositional reading that the Big issue holds: strong, driven, has her won mind, not presented in a sexually provocative way, not domesticated etc. Another Dominant/patriarchal Ideology: Men can't be feminists and understand emotional topics.
